JAM.

A few years ago, my sweet Grandma Mary taught me how to make her Strawberry Rhubarb Jam. She even gave me some of her rhubarb to transplant to our garden. Oh, how I adore her. Nugget has a dear love for a good 'ol pb&j, and she gobbles this jam right up. For the past few summers i've made a batch or two of Grandma Mary's jam, freeze it, and we're set for the year. We were due to make some more, and today was the day.

We sure picked a hot day to make jam. This is how warm it was in my house today.

Oh, and we don't have air conditioning. I know what you're thinking. But honestly, it's not that bad...most days. We get a handful of days each summer that are almost unbearable, but that's when we sneak away to the pool, or a friend's house. That's why my girl chose to make jam like this:

Nakey. And she loved it.

We got 7 jars today. Not bad. But not enough to last us a whole year, so we'll make more.
To cool off afterwards, we went to "Old McDonald's" to treat ourselves to this:

And Nugget was delighted. Who doesn't love ice cream?!

It's only June baby. Lots more summer fun to come!
