ECFE CABIN TRIP, ROUND 2.

A few weekends ago, some friends invited us up to their family cabin. Well, they actually invited FOUR families up to the cabin, for a grand total of 10 adults and 10 children. Remember this group? We did this get together last summer too, but at a different family's cabin. How generous of all these friends of ours to extend their second homes to us. Cabins are wildly fun in the summer, but without one of our own, we're happy to live up the experience through these short weekend trips.

Back L to R: Abby, Nugget, Olivia, Alex, Mitchell
(The Original Crew, the ones that brought us all together.)

Front L to R: Norah, Doodey, Henry, Aiden, Lucas
(The Junior Crew)

Big kids are standing behind their little sib.

I have to be honest and say that I came thisclose to bailing on the whole weekend. We had a good excuse, Nick's grandma planned a spur of the moment trip to come visit us, and was arriving while we would be gone. I was (and still am) feeling plagued with the woes of morning sickness, and I didn't really want to be miserable and throwing up around a group of our friends who didn't know yet that I was expecting. But alas, I pulled through, we enjoyed the weekend, and I made it all the way to the car ride home before having to throw up.

I did however, fall asleep on the couch one night at 9pm, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

We enjoyed all kinds of summer fun, like eating s'mores, playing with friends, canoeing, fishing, shopping, eating, bonfires, and catching turtles.

Unfortunately, my kids get a little wonky on their sleep when they are away from home, which leads to this sort of fun:

But we try to grin and bear it the best we can.

It was a short trip, but totally worth it. We'll see if we're lucky enough to be included again next year, as we'll be the first ones to have baby 3. We may outwear our welcome ;)

Anywho, thanks Clark family for having us, we sure appreciated it!

  1. It was fun seeing your pictures, since I was just looking at mine. I'm glad you made it, even if it was a little shorter.
